Carrizo Plain is a one of th Nation's newest National Monuments. The wildflowers in the spring are glorious, but it is also home to many endangered species. The scene in this painting is on the road over the Tremblor Mountains. You can actually see the San Andreas fault running through the West side of them. And - Antelope actually still play here.
