Montana de Oro is a California State Park. It's name means 'mountain of gold', and was so named by the early Spanish explorers because in the springtime its hills (which roll down to the Pacific Ocean, are covered with wild mustard plants, as in this painting, and sometimes California Poppies. When I did this painting, I was waist deep in wild mustard. Beautiful!
Your purchase payment of this piece will be donated to the Environmental Center for San Luis Obispo. You can go to their website by clicking on their link to the left in the listing "Non-Profit Organizations I contribute to".

I purchased and received this lovely little painting - and I absolutely adore it! It is a great addition to my Ohio home, and looking at it takes me right back to being in that magical place. Thank you!
